Merchant of Venice Anticipation Guide

"Don't rely on outward appearances when making judgements"
Agree. I strongly agree with this statement, mainly because it is true. Appearances of a person could always change drastically or barely, but it never defines how they may act or behave. You can't fully judge a person truthfully of what type of person they are based on looks. Judging on outward appearances is not judging, it's rather ASSUMING.

"Justice is always blind"
Disagree. Justice is blind, but not always. Justice has its ways of showing up in some certain circumstances but it's usually blind. There's never really a fair play for anyone in life, there's always going to be times where things are just unfair. But again, justice may be blind, but not always because there are times and possibilities of having justice

"A brotherly love between two friends can be as strong as an intimate love between man and women"
Agree. First of all, it's not impossible to have a brotherly love as strong as an intimate love. A brotherly love as strong as an intimate love consists of the characteristics that intimate lovers have, like always concerning for each other and such. It's simply a matter of how close of friends they are and how well they get along.

"You can break a promise as long as you have a good excuse"
Agree. As bad as it may sound, there could be an exception to breaking a promise. It all depends on the situation and how important or sincere the promise is. For example, if you promised to not use your phone for a week, but someone collapsed on the street and the initial thought is to call 911. I honestly think it would be better to break a promise than risk someone's health or life. If the promise is witty and the circumstance is urgent, then I honestly think it's not that big of a deal to break the certain promise. Not saying that it's completely fine to break promises, but a person should always stay true to a promise as much as they can.

"Love is blind"
Disagree. Love is never blind, because it's always possible for anyone to be loved (or at least liked). It may seem to some people that love is blind, but it usually depends on the person's experience with love. Everyone is loved by someone (parents, friends, strangers, God *especially because he loves everyone ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE*). Love may seem blind to people who reject it, but there's always something that the person may secretly love or HAD loved. If one has loved before can always love again.

"Stereotypes are often right"
Agree. Stereotypes are OFTEN right, meaning that yes they are usually right, but not always. Stereotypes usually point out on certain groups of people, but the thing is, everyone is individually different and unique, there's never a group of people that are EXACTLY the same. There are always certain characteristics the differentiates a person from another. Though it may seem that the "stereotype" may apply to a majority of the people, there's always going to be at least one person who differs from it.

"An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is a good motto to live by"
Agree. I agree with this motto because it takes part in fairness. Though it's not bad to take the bigger part in some situations, being generous is never something to avoid doing. Same goes for taking the lesser part in situations, it just all depends on the satisfaction of both sides. As long as both sides are happy with what they're doing, then it's fair not matter what because of being genuinely happy with what they decide.
